Description:

Bortniky village History and Ethnography Museum was opened in 1992 r.; it is situated in the premises of the secondary school in Bortniky village. The museum exhibits and materials are placed in 6 halls.

The interior of peasant house of 20-30-years ХХ century is presented in hall № 1. The house is covered by a straw. It represents the life of average peasants. In a corner there is the stove and old lamp. The walls are decorated by plates and flowers, and also icons are placed here, sacred images and other interesting things, which represent the ancient life of the peasants.

In the second part of hall the political and social life of people of Prycarpattya in photos and documents is presented. On stands the life of the Ukrainian people from the beginning of existence of the state system and to the nowadays is illustrated. Near each stand there is a folder with the collected materials that help visitors to understand better the stands and showcases illustrated material. In other showcase the things of archaeology are displayed – rare pictures, documents of village and land history.

A separate room is devoted to religious education with a large number of religious literature, icons and different things which tell about history of church.

Exhibits of hall № 2 continue the story which begins in the museum peasant house. Clothes, tools, wares of skilled craftsmen are demonstrated here.

The museum also organizes the exhibitions of literature, newspapers, magazines, and collections of stamps, coins, paper monies, embroidered towels, embroidered shirts, works of art and others.
